Operations Control Centre Manager - Brisbane

Our client is seeking an experienced Manager for their Operations Control Centre based in Brisbane.  Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the airline’s operation delivery functions, and report to the Flight Operations Manager to ensure the technical support of Flight Dispatch, Operations and Crew Control.
 
You will have extensive experience in managing airline Operations Control / Flight Dispatch with a proven track record in a high pressure airline environment.  As a highly motivated and organised candidate, you will ensure the schedule integrity by managing and coordinating aircraft and crew resources. 
 
Overseeing a team within the OCC, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe operations delivery functions including crewing, operations control, dispatch, coordination of fleet technical and other operational services in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensuring compliance and support of the Safety Management System and associated company policies and procedures.

  • Provide operational solutions for disruptions and service recovery to safely protect customers, crew and aircraft and restore the scheduled services.

  • Monitoring and coordination of aircraft ground handling and loading procedures.

  • Maintaining the Operations Control system to allocate aircraft and other flying resources for use in airline operations in conjunction with Maintenance planning.

  • Ensuring the provision of flight planning and flight following functions.

  • Track On Time Performance reporting, delay investigation and sustainable corrective actions with Ground Handlers, Maintenance services, Crew and other providers.

  • Validating the navigation database in aircraft and flight planning systems.

  • Ensuring that aircraft are legally crewed under CASA Regulations and relevant Industrial Agreements.

  • Ensuring that the Operations Delivery structure and facilities are adequate to meet all operational requirements.

  • Activating the Emergency Response Plan, if required, and associated facilities and resources. As well as participating in planning and activation of ERP table-top and other exercises throughout the network.

  • Monitoring and improving department reference libraries, SOPs, Manuals, Checklists and handover procedures.

  • Preparing, implementing, monitoring and controlling the Operations Delivery budget.

  • Oversight of the development and implementation of Departmental change programs.

  • Ongoing review, revision and distribution of operational documentation.

  • Providing leadership by example in identifying safety hazards and pro-actively pursuing solutions to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Ensuring all OCC officers understand safety responsibilities.

  • Understanding the nature of airline operations, the health and safety risks of the business and mitigating solutions to protect customers, staff and equipment.

  • Ensuring the OCC is adequately resourced and trained to respond to safety and security incidents

Candidates with the below qualifications will be highly regarded:

  • Minimum 5 years of airline operational management experience with the ability to analyse operational challenges, evaluate and implement solutions for service recovery.

  • Substantial familiarity with CASA and associated regulations.

  • Experience in Flight Planning / Dispatch/ Following, Crew Planning and control and the application of associated legislation and industrial agreements.

  • Holds CPL or ATP theory subjects and some experience as a licenced pilot.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Airline operations and applicable Civil Aviation Orders and Regulations.

  • Operations Process and procedures development, refinement and implementation.

  • Disruption recovery debriefing, analytics and documentation to improve SOPs and promote a continuously improving environment.

  • Develop or source operational training material or courses to professionally develop staff and improve resource capabilities.

  • IOSA process compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Used to working to deadlines in a busy and ever changing environment.

  • A capable user of business and operational software packages Airline Operations and Crew Management Systems and MS Office.

  • Ability to successfully pass a (DAMP) Drug screening and Medical assessment.

  • Ability to obtain an ASIC
